When I have approached my fifties I noticed blurred vision when reading, so the optician prescribed me glasses, after two years I had another check up of my eyes and the optician prescribed new glasses even if I was still reading perfectly well with the old ones. Last week I lost my glasses so I went back to my optician who said it was time for another ckeck up and prescribed me new glasses, I paid in total #274 pounds including the fees for checking up. I think this is a great business! a friend of mine said glasses weaken your eyes even further, is this true? on the other hand I do need my glasses for reading! is it better not to wear them and force your eyes even if blurred? thanks for opinion.

My mother came to visit the last three days. yesterday it was almost a head on with a semi truck, today almost smoked a turning car. and there was 3 or 4 other times that were almost accidents. she is going to hurt someone. what can be done? she was talking about floaters in her eyes? she acts like things are jumping in front of here but they are not and it is very scary. The other day I went to the eye doctor and my eye pressure test revealed high eye pressure in both eyes. They mentioned this but didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. I was too busy worrying about a chalazion that I was being treated for to ask more about the eye pressure. Now that my chalazion surgery is over I am worried about the eye pressure issue. I just looked it up and found it’s direct link to glaucoma. In addition, I have had floaters in my eyes that I first noticed in 3rd grade (17 years ago). My mom tells me I am being silly… but should I schedule another appointment to get checked for glaucoma? I read that if not addressed in advanced that glaucoma can cause blindness. Am I just being a hypochondriac? Wouldn’t the eye doctor have said something if the eye pressure was something to be concerned about? Thanks!!
